Prologue

One of the things that I really wanted to bring back in this year's race is the interaction of the Ni-Vanuatu as they prepare their evening meals and the competitors as they speed through, both touching each other’s lives briefly but memorably.

One of the really interesting things about Port Vila is that it is surrounded by Shanty Towns set up by Ni-Vanuatu who have come in from other islands to try and find work.

The best way to give the competitors a good look at this will be to do it on Mountain Bikes.

The roads are quiet on Saturday afternoons, the opportune time to do some sightseeing while racing to find those Checkpoints.

So make sure you pack a good set of bike lights and see you soon

Daniel

Daniel the only Ni-Vanuatu to complete the 2010 Inaugural VAR is looking for a partner to compete again.

His partner of last year Craig Unthank is a new Dad and isn't coming across this year.

This from Darren Smith

Daniel is a strong athlete, really impressed us last year.  His eyesight and spotting trail markers in the dark and moving through at speed with a crappy torch was amazing

2011 Spectator Package

We Are Pleased to announce the 2011 VAR Spectators Package.

Last year we discovered that the Spectators liked to be able to pick and choose what they saw and what functions they attended.

This will make prepaying very difficult so we will get you to fill out the Online Form choosing the items you wish and we when we receive that we will email you confirming your choices and giving you the Vatu amount which we will collect from you in Cash at the Race Registration and hand out your vouchers.

For what’s on offer click on the Spectators Tab.

Go Mel!

Hey all,

We're planning to give you some snippets of the Race this year via Video Clips that Zeak is putting together.

So I convinced my wife to dress like an Adventure Racer and join me as my team mate in the first video.  For those of you who didn't come last year Mel is an Accountant and quickly agreed because she figures it would be about as close to her doing an Adventure Race as she will ever get.

When Greg at a look it he had three comments

Sensational

The water looks amazing

& Go Mel

What you witness on the video will take place sometime on the Sunday.

We are going to bery beautiful parts of the Island and we think that you're going to love it.

Go to our Facebook page to veiw, we will get it up on this website shortly,

Troy
