Camping

Teams will camp at a local village on the Sunday night (August 22).

Your team’s 102L Stanley Storage Box containing your camping gear, spare clothing and food for that night and the next day will be transported to the village. All gear must be re-packed into the box prior to recommencing the race on the Monday morning (August 23).

The 102L Stanley Storage Box can be purchased at Super Cheap Auto or various Hardware stores. We recommend teams use the storage box as one person’s luggage item on the flight to and from Vanuatu.

Bike Boxes

Teams will be required to use a Qantas / Virgin Airlines Bike Box or a homemade bike box that meets the same dimensions. For instructions on how to make your own bike box click here.

It is recommended that you protect your bike box from damage from water, e.g. showers, rain. This can be done by applying a waterproof film or coating to the box. Reinforce and waterproof the base of the box with duct or waterproof canvas tape.
