About The Vanuatu Adventure Races
The 2009 inaugural Vanuatu Adventure was a great success with teams coming from 5 countries and as far away as the USA. 35 Teams entered the three day competition that opened with a Prologue which was an on foot Rogaine. Day two set of with a swim, Mountain Biking, island hopping, Rogaining, Outrigger canoes, snorkel Rogaine, climbing, abseiling and archery. Day two was a cross island trek ending with and abseil 50m down a waterfall.
It was with great regret that the 2010 Vanuatu Adventure Race had to be cancel due to a virulent bacterial infection on the leg of the race organiser Troy Spann which threatened to take his leg if he didn’t go into hospital for immediate treatment.
The plan for 2011 is that the Vanuatu Adventure Race becomes three events. Two give the events more scope Event Logic has ordered 30 double inflatable kayaks. All three events will be limited to 30 teams of two and first in best dressed.
In late May or early June there will be two Multisport Events a week apart. One will see the newly revamped Holiday Inn as the hub. The other will be on the island of Santo and feature the magnificent Millennium Cave.
On August 11th the Three Day Vanuatu Adventure Race will return once again using the kayaks we plan to take the action to some of the islands just off the northern end of Efate.
